Mr Aldem's earlier international experience includes working
for the National Commercial Bank in Saudi Arabia. He was
the founder chairman of the Saudi Arabian Bank Fraud Prevention
Committee and was asked to comment on the Saudi Arabian
money laundering legislation.
Mike then moved to Arthur Andersen's Fraud Integrity Risk
Group and spent 20 months working in Zurich as part of
the Volker Commission investigation into the assets of
the victims of Nazi persecution.
He has spoken widely on financial crime and money laundering
issues in Europe, the Middle East, the Far East and South
Africa and has a Master of Science Degree in Security
Management. Mike has assisted the British Banker's Association
in developing a web based anti-money laundering training.

Crime Authority of Australia, Mr.Bennett is currently
an Examiner with the Australian Crime Commission. This
new body came into existence on the 1st January 2003 upon
the amalgamation of the National Crime Authority, the
Australian Bureau of Criminal Intelligence, and the Office
of Strategic Crime Assessment into an organisation armed
with extensive coercive powers and intelligence gathering
capabilities for use against serious and organised crime.
Mr.Bennett's career has included service as a detective
with the Criminal Investigation Branch of the New South
Wales Police, an extensive practice at the New South Wales
Bar, appointment as Deputy Senior Crown Prosecutor in
New South Wales, and appointments to the National Crime
Authority and the Australian Crime Commission. |

Alan Beverly is the
Deputy Head of the European Commission’s Banking Unit.
He has been in charge of the anti-money laundering dossier
for the last six years. He was in charge of the proposal
to update and extend the 1991 money-laundering directive
leading up to the adoption of the second anti-money laundering.
Alan Beverley also represents the European Commission
at the Financial Action Task Force, the foremost world
anti-money laundering body. |

She is responsible for developing bilateral relationships

financial intelligence and coordinating AUSTRAC's technical
assistance to
developing FIU's. Rachelle also manages AUSTRAC's work
with international
organisations including the Egmont Group of FIU's, the
Asia Pacific Group
on Money Laundering (APG)and the Financial Action Task
Force (FATF).
Prior to joining AUSTRAC, Rachelle was at the National
Crime Authority ,
responsible for coordination of Australia's National
Task Force
investigation organized crime involvement in money laundering

Barrister in private practice
in the Hong Kong SAR, and former Senior Assistant
Director of Public Prosecutions, Department of Justice,
Hong Kong SAR. He joined the Department of Justice in
1986 and he worked principally in criminal law, including
extradition, mutual legal assistance and legal policy.
For over 10 years he was involved with advising on and
prosecuting money laundering, restraint and confiscation
matters as well as drafting Hong Kong's anti-money laundering
laws. From 1991-1993 he was Assistant Solicitor General
of Hong Kong and helped draft Hong Kong's Organised and
Serious Crimes Ordinance. Before going to Hong Kong in
April 1986 Mr Blanchflower worked for 8 years in the Criminal
Law Section of the Canadian Department of Justice doing
prosecution and appellate work as well as extradition
and mutual legal assistance matters. He has lectured and
presented papers in Hong Kong and overseas on a variety
of topics including proceeds of crime, extradition, mutual
legal assistance and organised crime. In September 2001
he was a member of an expert working group of the United
Nations Drug Control Programme in Vienna, Austria, established
to draft measures for effective confiscation of proceeds
of crime. |

Australia. In July 2002 Mr Brammer retired as an Assistant
Commissioner from the New South Wales Police and joined
the Commission as the Executive Director, Strategic Operations.
He has some 39 years experience in policing at local,
national and international levels. For the past eighteen
years Mal has held senior and executive management responsibilities
as a local area commander at King Cross and in the investigation
of organised crime, drug law enforcement and police corruption.
Those responsibilities have included the development and
implementation of national and State law enforcement/corruption
prevention initiatives and training programs. In the last
six years of his service Mr Brammer held senior executive
positions in the NSW Police as the Commander, Special
Agencies and Commander, Special Crime and Internal Affairs.
For four and half years in the latter role Mr Brammer
was responsible for directing major investigations involving
police corruption and linked organised crime, corruption
prevention and complaint management. Throughout his service
Mr Brammer has received a number of awards and commendations,
including the National Medal in 1982 and Australian Police
Medal in 1997 for his services to policing and has undertaken
academic studies and training programs at international
and national level. |
