Michael Adlem
Partner, Deloitte & Touche Central Europe in Warsaw, Poland.
Mr Aldem's earlier international experience includes working for the National Commercial Bank in Saudi Arabia. He was the founder chairman of the Saudi Arabian Bank Fraud Prevention Committee and was asked to comment on the Saudi Arabian money laundering legislation.
Mike then moved to Arthur Andersen's Fraud Integrity Risk Group and spent 20 months working in Zurich as part of the Volker Commission investigation into the assets of the victims of Nazi persecution.
He has spoken widely on financial crime and money laundering issues in Europe, the Middle East, the Far East and South Africa and has a Master of Science Degree in Security Management. Mike has assisted the British Banker's Association in developing a web based anti-money laundering training.


 Dr S.Sundari Arie

Deputy Director of Special Unit for Banking Investigation, Bank Indonesia.
She graduated with PhD of Law, Post Graduate Program, University of Indonesia, Jakarta. Previously to her current position Dr S Sundari Arie was working in various positions in Bank Indonesia-Jakarta. Dr S Sundari Arie is a lecturer, Magistrate of Law Program, Gajah Mada University -Yogyakarta & Jakarta, University of Brawijaya-Malang



 Muhammad Baasiri
Secretary, Special Investigation Commission Lebanon. Muhammad is responsible for executing decisions pursuant to the anti - money laundering law and with his team was primarily responsible for removing Lebanon from the list of 'Non - Cooperative
Countries or Territories' in June 2002.His earlier experience includes advising the International Monetary Fund to the Central Bank of Oman and Chairman of the Banking Control Commission, Central Bank of Lebanon. M r Baasiri is a member of the The American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (A.I. C.P.A), The Lebanese Association of Certified Public Accountants and is Vice - Chairman, Board of Trustees of the American Community School in Beirut.



 Prof. James Backhouse
Prof James Backhouse has been Director of the Center for Computer Security Research at the London School of Economics since 1992. He heads a group developing legal, social and organisational information security systems. He is currently working on modeling tools to support a variety of security management tasks.


 James Bennett, SC
Examiner, Australian Crime Commission. Formerly a Member of the National Crime Authority of Australia, Mr.Bennett is currently an Examiner with the Australian Crime Commission. This new body came into existence on the 1st January 2003 upon the amalgamation of the National Crime Authority, the Australian Bureau of Criminal Intelligence, and the Office of Strategic Crime Assessment into an organisation armed with extensive coercive powers and intelligence gathering capabilities for use against serious and organised crime. Mr.Bennett's career has included service as a detective with the Criminal Investigation Branch of the New South Wales Police, an extensive practice at the New South Wales Bar, appointment as Deputy Senior Crown Prosecutor in New South Wales, and appointments to the National Crime Authority and the Australian Crime Commission.
     


 Vladimir Berezansky Jr
Director, International Legal & Compliance, MDM Financial Group, Moscow. Mr Berezansky joined MDM in July 2002 as Director of International Legal and Compliance. He has been practising as an international transactional lawyer since 1985, including as in-house counsel at Science Applications International Corp (SAIC), Senior Attorney with Steptoe & Johnson International, and Senior Legal Advisor with the International Science & Technology Centre (ISTC) in Moscow. A native of New York City, he holds a Bachelors degree from Columbia University and a J.D. from the Washington College of Law, Washington, D.C. He has been a member of the Washington, D.C. Bar Association since 1985


 Alan Beverly
Alan Beverly is the Deputy Head of the European Commission’s Banking Unit. He has been in charge of the anti-money laundering dossier for the last six years. He was in charge of the proposal to update and extend the 1991 money-laundering directive leading up to the adoption of the second anti-money laundering. Alan Beverley also represents the European Commission at the Financial Action Task Force, the foremost world anti-money laundering body.


 Rachelle Boyle

Rachelle is Senior Manager, International at AUSTRAC , The Australian
Transaction Reports and Analysis Centre, Australia's Financial
Intelligence Unit.

She is responsible for developing bilateral relationships with
international FIU's, establishing MOUs to enable international sharing of
financial intelligence and coordinating AUSTRAC's technical assistance to
developing FIU's. Rachelle also manages AUSTRAC's work with international
organisations including the Egmont Group of FIU's, the Asia Pacific Group
on Money Laundering (APG)and the Financial Action Task Force (FATF).

Prior to joining AUSTRAC, Rachelle was at the National Crime Authority ,
responsible for coordination of Australia's National Task Force
investigation organized crime involvement in money laundering and large
scale revenue fraud.



 Michael Blanchflower, SC
Barrister in private practice in the Hong Kong SAR, and former Senior Assistant Director of Public Prosecutions, Department of Justice, Hong Kong SAR. He joined the Department of Justice in 1986 and he worked principally in criminal law, including extradition, mutual legal assistance and legal policy. For over 10 years he was involved with advising on and prosecuting money laundering, restraint and confiscation matters as well as drafting Hong Kong's anti-money laundering laws. From 1991-1993 he was Assistant Solicitor General of Hong Kong and helped draft Hong Kong's Organised and Serious Crimes Ordinance. Before going to Hong Kong in April 1986 Mr Blanchflower worked for 8 years in the Criminal Law Section of the Canadian Department of Justice doing prosecution and appellate work as well as extradition and mutual legal assistance matters. He has lectured and presented papers in Hong Kong and overseas on a variety of topics including proceeds of crime, extradition, mutual legal assistance and organised crime. In September 2001 he was a member of an expert working group of the United Nations Drug Control Programme in Vienna, Austria, established to draft measures for effective confiscation of proceeds of crime.


 Jack Blum

 Dr Josef Bollag
Dr Josef Bollag is a Counsellor at Law and Senior Advisor to SRO for Financial Intermediaries in Zug, Switzerland. He has worked as legal advisor and counselor to international business and finance since establishing his own law firm in 1978. In 1994, he initiated the founding of an organisation to fight against organised crime in the finance and business world. He is an expert in anti-money laundering self-regulation and a regular lecturer on the topic.


 Rowan Bosworth-Davis
Rowan Bosworth-Davis is the Principal Consultant for Thinking about Crime. He is a leading international expert on providing education and consulting services in the field of fraud prevention and anti-money laundering. He is a former fraud squad detective at New Scotland Yard and Criminal Justice Consultant for the City of London.


 Mal Brammer
Executive Director Strategic Operations, Independent Commission against Corruption, Australia. In July 2002 Mr Brammer retired as an Assistant Commissioner from the New South Wales Police and joined the Commission as the Executive Director, Strategic Operations. He has some 39 years experience in policing at local, national and international levels. For the past eighteen years Mal has held senior and executive management responsibilities as a local area commander at King Cross and in the investigation of organised crime, drug law enforcement and police corruption. Those responsibilities have included the development and implementation of national and State law enforcement/corruption prevention initiatives and training programs. In the last six years of his service Mr Brammer held senior executive positions in the NSW Police as the Commander, Special Agencies and Commander, Special Crime and Internal Affairs. For four and half years in the latter role Mr Brammer was responsible for directing major investigations involving police corruption and linked organised crime, corruption prevention and complaint management. Throughout his service Mr Brammer has received a number of awards and commendations, including the National Medal in 1982 and Australian Police Medal in 1997 for his services to policing and has undertaken academic studies and training programs at international and national level.

 Martyn Bridges
Martyn Bridges is a Tax and Forensic Accounting Partner with Deloitte & Touche and is the partner in charge of the firm’s Investigation Services Group. He was previously a commercial fraud investigator and advised on litigation in relation to procurement fraud, diversion of profit and embezzlement. He has also worked as a senior investigator in the Criminal Investigation Division of the UK Tax Authority.


 Ethan Burger
Ethan Burger is a Project Director at American University's Transnational Crime & Corruption Center and an Associate Research Professor at AU's School of I international Service. He has principal responsibility for managing TraCCC's day to day-to day relations with its overseas research centers in Moscow, St. Petersburg and Kharkiv. He analyzes foreign and international law concerning organised crime and corruption , particularly in connection with money laundering, privatisation and corporate governance. He teaches courses on (i) Conflict and Resolution in Post Soviet Russia and (ii) Comparative Corporate Governance. He has presented papers on rule of law and dispute settlement issues at academic and business conferences ( including , the American Bar Association's Dispute Resolution Section (Seattle), the Royal Institute for International Affairs (London), the International Monetary Fund (Washington, D.C.), the Institute for State and Law (Moscow), the Society for International Development (Washington, D.C.) the American Chamber of Commerce (both in Moscow and Kiev) and the U.S. -Russia Business Council (Washington, D.C.)), and served as an expert witness in lawsuits and arbitrations. He served as Special Counsel to the Lawyers Committee for Human Rights for (then) CSCE Activities. He has more than 10 years' experience advising clients on trade and investment matters in Russia, Ukraine, Kazakhstan and Belarus. He is graduate of Harvard College (1981 Magna Cum Laude) and holds a J.D. from the Georgetowm University Law Center ( 1989 Cum Laude). He is member of the D.C. and Maryland Bars , and a trained mediator.


 Mark Butler
Chief Inspector, Joint Financial Intelligence Unit, Hong Kong Police Force. With over 13 years experience with the Hong Kong Police Force, the majority of which has been spent in the field of serious fraud and money laundering investigation, his current responsibilities include the operation of Hong Kong's financial Intelligence unit, the Joint Financial Intelligence Unit. He is also presently a co-chair of the Asia-Pacific Group on Money Laundering's Working Group on Alternative Remittance and Underground Banking Systems.


 Dmitry Chistov
Country Compliance Officer for Citibank Russia. Since 1999 Country Compliance Officer for Citybank Russia - member of Citigroup, an American financial services company present in more than 100 countries with 268,000 employees. He oversees General Compliance and Money Laundering Prevention, coordinates these functions in other Citybank branches in the CIS - Ukraine and Kazakhstan.


 Peter Cosandey
Partner and Head of the Business Unit Forensic Accounting at KPMG in Zurich. He is a former Cantonal Prosecutor and a Member of the Swiss Federal Banking Commissions working group for the revision of the Money Laundering Guidelines. He has been involved with numerous multi-jurisdictional cases including Polly Peck Intl. Plc, Robert Maxwell, BCCI, DG Bank, Coop Germany and Bangkok Bank of Commerce. He has also pursued Mexican and Colombian drug cartels and successfully traced more than US$600 million from the late President Ferdinand Marcos and repatriated it to the Philippines.
